Frequently Asked Questions

These are the questions we hear most often from homeowners, condo boards, property managers and small businesses in Chicago North Shore when they plan a camera, access control or intercom project.

Do you work on systems installed by another company?

Yes. A large part of our service work is taking over existing systems that are partially working, undocumented or no longer supported by the original installer. We begin with a diagnostic visit, document what is on site, and recommend the most practical next step: repair, stabilization, phased upgrade or full replacement.

Do you offer free estimates?

We offer free estimates for new installations and planned upgrades in our service area. For troubleshooting and emergency issues, we usually begin with a service visit so we can inspect wiring, power, network equipment and device condition before quoting corrective work.

What areas do you serve?

We focus on Chicago North Shore, including Winnetka, Wilmette, Evanston, Glencoe, Glenview and nearby suburbs. If your property is just outside the core service area, contact us and we will confirm availability.

You can browse our local city and suburb pages for area-specific context, business profiles and common service-call scenarios.

What systems do you install?

We design and install integrated low-voltage security systems: IP cameras, recorders and cloud video platforms, access control for doors and gates, video intercoms, networking, PoE switching and supporting power infrastructure.

Can you upgrade only part of an older system?

Usually yes. Many Chicago-area buildings are best handled in phases. We can replace the most failure-prone components first, improve recording reliability and coverage, and create a migration plan that fits your budget and building schedule.

How long does installation take?

A small residential camera system may take one day. Multi-door access control, intercom replacements or multifamily upgrades take longer because of cabling paths, building access coordination and testing. We outline a realistic schedule in the proposal, including any required downtime windows.

What should I prepare before requesting a quote?

The fastest quotes happen when we have a basic scope: property type, approximate number of cameras or doors, whether there is existing equipment, and photos of panels, entrances or telecom rooms. Even a simple phone video helps.

Do you provide documentation and training?

Yes. We label equipment, document key components and provide a practical handoff so owners, managers or staff can actually use the system after installation.
