Why we standardise on certain platforms
There is an endless list of products in the security market. Instead of trying everything, we pick a limited number of platforms for each category and learn them deeply. That lets us:
- Design systems faster and with more confidence.
- Support and upgrade existing installs without guesswork.
- Keep spare parts and replacement options ready.
Our catalog reflects this approach – it shows the hardware we actually trust and use in real projects, not just every device available online.
Types of partners we work with
Depending on the project, we may involve different types of partners:
- Camera and recorder vendors. For IP cameras, NVRs and VMS servers that match the size and complexity of each site.
- Access control manufacturers. Controllers, readers, credentials and cloud/on-premise management platforms.
- Intercom and entry system vendors. Door stations, indoor monitors and mobile apps, integrated with access control and locks.
- Networking and power suppliers. Managed switches, PoE, UPS and surge protection for the entire system.
For each project, we choose a combination that makes sense for your property and long-term support – not just whatever is on promotion that week.
Working with client-selected vendors
Sometimes boards or IT departments have preferred vendors or platforms they would like to use. We are open to that, as long as the products are technically suitable and supportable. In those cases, we can:
- Review your preferred platform and map it to project requirements.
- Combine it with our standard components where needed.
- Document limitations or future upgrade paths clearly.
Our goal is not to push a single brand, but to deliver systems that work well and can be maintained over time in Chicago-area conditions.
