Can a door run on a code alone, without cards?
Yes — code-only mode is built in. It suits service and vendor doors where issuing credentials is impractical.

The keypad turns one reader into three different security policies. A door can open on a code alone, on a credential alone, or demand both — and that last combination is the point: a found or stolen fob without its PIN opens nothing. Underneath the pad it is a standard Brivo dual-technology unit on 13.56 MHz, single-gang mount, phones over Bluetooth.
Specs, firmware notes and availability change over time — confirm against the manufacturer’s current documentation before ordering.
Code-only is for doors where handing out credentials makes no sense — a service entrance the plumber uses twice a year, a vendor door with a rotating cast. Set a code and change it when the vendor changes.
Card-plus-PIN is the opposite end: two-factor entry for offices, equipment rooms, anywhere the consequences of a lost fob are real. The fob identifies the person, the PIN proves it is actually them — a credential that walked away in a coat pocket no longer opens anything. Between those extremes, the reader also works as a plain credential reader with the pad ignored, so the policy can change later without changing hardware.
Encrypted smart credentials on 13.56 MHz — the same EV3 fobs and cards as the whole line — plus Brivo Mobile Pass phone entry over Bluetooth. Single-gang footprint over a standard box. If the building also needs legacy 125 kHz prox support at a keypad door, that is the tri-technology B-BSPKF.
Outdoor-rated sealing, LED and beeper feedback on every read and keypress, tamper-resistant mounting hardware, 5-year warranty. OSDP into Brivo panels, Wiegand into third-party ones. B-BSKF-B is black, B-BSKF-W is white; the color is the whole difference at $492 MSRP either way.

Lost and stolen credentials. Without the matching PIN, a found fob or card opens nothing — the second factor takes lost and stolen cards out of play.
Color only — black or white. Specs, sealing, warranty and the $492 MSRP are identical.
No — this is the dual-technology keypad. The B-BSPKF adds the 125 kHz radio for buildings mid-migration.
If you already have Brivo hardware on site and the system is unstable, we can audit it, fix urgent issues and plan upgrades step by step instead of forcing a complete replacement. This includes systems originally installed by other vendors.
We offer free estimates for projects in our service area. New service clients also receive a 50% discount on the first service visit for troubleshooting and diagnostics, including systems we did not install.
